The Internet for Education

Finding the right college can be very tricky, extremely overwhelming, and slightly terrifying; however, the internet can be a useful tool to help ease some of that anxiety through the college process. When I was going to college, the internet was not something many people used, but now most people can’t live without it. Every young person I talk to says they rely on the internet to search for the college they want to attend. There are now websites where you can plug in your major and the area you are looking to go to school, and it will give you a list of results to help narrow your search.

Colleges are continuously trying to out do one another with better recreation centers, dining halls, dorm rooms, and education facilities, so it is very important to find the right school that is within your price range. To help make getting a higher education more attainable make sure to check into scholarships that the school gives, scholarships in your area, and use the FAFSA calculator to see if you are eligible for government grants and loans. It is important to understand that loans must be paid back and can lead to a lot of debt if you are not careful. That is why the internet can be so useful. There are tools available that allow you to see how much money you’ll spend and how much you’ll have to pay back in loans. College is a major step, so use the internet wisely to help make the big decision. I chose to pick the first school that seemed right for me, but one of my best friends spent months trying to decided. She worried so much that it made her sick. So, do your research, but don’t freak out and over think everything. I know, it’s easier said than done. The important thing is to pick the school where you can get the best education in the field you want to go into. Pick a major that you can apply and make a career out of. Choose a school that you can afford and won’t feel overwhelmed by student loans, and make sure you pick a place that interest you and you can get involved. College is an amazing time, so use the internet as a tool to help make the right choice.
